What is specific to this site
This exhibition is a static website. It has no user accounts, no contact forms, no newsletter and no comment function, and it does not ask you for personal data at any point.
Usage statistics. We use Plausible Analytics, which the GWZO hosts on its own servers. Plausible does not set cookies, does not create a cross-site profile and does not store IP addresses; measurement data stays on GWZO infrastructure and is not passed to any third party. The purpose is to understand which parts of the exhibition are used, on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating the site appropriately (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).
Cookies. This site sets no cookies of its own and stores nothing on your device. Display settings such as a chosen filter or sort order on the Browse page are held in the page address only, and disappear when you close the page.
Content loaded from third parties
Some pages embed material hosted elsewhere. When such a page is opened, your browser contacts the provider concerned and that provider receives your IP address and technical details of your request. This happens only on the pages that use the service in question:
| Service | Used for | Provider’s privacy policy |
|---|---|---|
YouTube (privacy-enhanced youtube-nocookie.com) |
Embedded video on individual item pages | |
| Vimeo | Embedded video on individual item pages | Vimeo |
| OpenStreetMap | Map tiles on the Map page | OpenStreetMap Foundation |
| Esri / ArcGIS Online | Alternative map tiles on the Map page | Esri |
| jsDelivr | Delivery of a small number of programme libraries | jsDelivr |
YouTube videos are embedded in privacy-enhanced mode, which means YouTube does not store information about visitors unless a video is actually played.
If you would rather avoid these transfers, you can simply not open the Map page and not play the embedded videos; the rest of the exhibition works without contacting any third party.
Server log files
The web server on which this exhibition is hosted records the usual access data, such as the page requested, the time of the request, the amount of data transferred, the browser type and the IP address. This data is used to operate the site securely and reliably and is not merged with other data sources.
